Apple Cider Vinegar for Weight Loss

ACV for Weight LossApple Cider Vinegar has a multitude of uses. People use it to dress salads, make pickles, and other foods (and it’s great for that!).

But Apple Cider Vinegar is not just an ordinary kitchen item, it has shown huge potential to help with improving people’s health in a number of different ways.

For example, studies have shown it is effective for fighting diabetes, and lowering blood pressure and renin activity.

This is clearly no ordinary type of substance!

It also has a number of other uses as a natural remedy for a things like eczema or dandruff.

But aside the above mentioned benefits, can it really help you lose weight? The answer seems to be yes.

Apple Cider Vinegar contains several properties that are actually beneficial for losing weight. It’s clear that it is not going to be a miracle cure for weight loss, but here are a few of the components that are great for your body.

Enzymes and Organic Acids to Boost Metabolism:

Apple Cider Vinegar contains enzymes and organic acids that help boost your metabolism rate. Higher metabolism can help you burn fat, which is obviously good for losing weight.

Reduced Hunger Cravings:

Apple Cider Vinegar has been said to help suppress your hunger. By reducing your appetite and hunger, ACV is spurring you towards achieving your weight loss goal.

I do concede however that the jury is still out on whether ACV does actually reduce cravings. Check out this article for another perspective.

Reduced Water Retention:

ACV has been known to decrease your body’s retention of water. It also refreshes your body and keeps you hydrated for longer periods so that you only take water when you absolutely need it.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race:

Apple Cider Vinegar is a good treatment for weight loss. Truth be told, it won’t make you lose weight overnight. If you are looking for a quick fix, it’s not going to be what you are looking for. Losing weight with ACV is a gradual process.

If you can embrace the gradual process, you will enjoy two benefits:

First, you will give your body enough time to adjust to your new weight. Unlike when your body is starved (through dieting for instance), it won’t store excess fats as a way of compensating for the lost pounds.

Second, you are not afraid of waking up one day and seeing that all your weight is back. As long as you can be patient with this treatment, you aren’t as likely to gain back all the weight you have lost.

How to Use Apple Cider Vinegar for Weight Loss:

Apple Cider Vinegar is one of the most affordable weight loss treatment available to you.  There are many recipes available with ACV. The simplest of them is drinking a quantity of Apple Cider Vinegar immediately after you get out of bed. 1-2 tablespoons should do the work if you can do it (it can be difficult to drink it straight!).

However, most people see this as a chore and find it difficult to maintain. I’m in that camp! So if you are in the same boat – and you fear you can’t stick to drinking it straight every morning – then choose one of the methods outlined below:

Apple Cider and Water:

Process:

  • Add two tablespoonfuls of ACV into an 8 or 16 oz glass of water
  • You can use warm or cold water
  • Mix well
  • Drink this before your meal.
  • Do this daily

Apple Cider with Cinamon Powder:

Process:

  • Add 2 tablespoon of raw, organic Apple Cider Vinegar to 1 tablespoon of Cinnamon Powder
  • Add the mixture to 12 oz of water
  • Drink it before or in between your meal
  • Do this a couple of times daily
  • Be consistent!

Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey:

Process:

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of ACV in an 8 oz glass of warm water.
  • Allow the honey to dissolve and shake well to form a smooth paste.
  • Drink the mixture before your meal
  • To be effective, use only raw organic honey and ACV.

Conclusion:

Aside from weight loss, Apple Cider Vinegar has a number of health benefits. When it comes to promoting general wellbeing, Apple Cider Vinegar can be very effective. It’s not a miracle weight loss cure, but it’s been shown to have positive benefits.

If you can tolerate the taste, then definitely try to work it into your routine!
